The Federal Government is challenging members of the new board of the national pension commission to leaverage on their diverse background to bring new thinking to bear in the nation’s pension administration.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, while inaugurating the sixteen member board in Abuja says government will not relent in ensuring that those who laboured to serve the country in their actives years sleep with their two eyes closed knowing that their pension is in good hands.
He urged the board members not to interfare with the day to day running of the commission but to assist the management with innovative ideas to improve on the activities of the commission especially in finding solution to the challenges facing the pension industry.
Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Oluremi Oni and the Director General, Aisha Dahiru Umar thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for their appointments and pledged the board’s determination to bring radical changes in the best interest of pension contributors.
The board is made up of representatives from the six geo-political zones of the country as well as that of the central bank of nigeria and the organised labour.
