SENATE ON RESCUE MISSION.

The senate has condemned the recent abduction of some students from the government science secondary school Kankara, Katsina state.

A motion of urgent public importance by Senator Bello Mandiya which highlighted the many security issues and incidents that has characterized Nigeria’s national security called on security agencies to ensure timely rescue of the kidnapped students.

The legislators while citing similar incidents in Niger state where some persons were also killed and others kidnapped described the Kankara abduction as a puzzle which must be unravelled.

The motion by senator Abubakar Kyari drew the attention of the senate to the attack on an IDP camp in Niger Republic where Nigerians from Borno state are camped.

It also urged the federal government to direct security agencies to strengthen security along lake Chad and work towards the return of Nigerians in various internally displaced persons camp abroad.

Meanwhile, the senate has sworn in four new senators , Seriake Dickson Bayelsa west, PDP, Cleopas Moses PDP, Bayelsa central, Adetokumbo Abiru, APC Lagos east, Professor Nora Daduut, Plateau South APC.
