
The Federal government has refuted the claim that the country will face high scarcity of Maize in 2021

Agro-processors forecast that scarcity is being triggered by environmental factors and inadequate support to the growers of the produce.
The Federal government and the central Bank of Nigeria believed that Maize Farmers under the Anchor Borrowers Programme produced more than enough during the 2020 Rainy season Farming activities.
More than 20 Million metric tonnes of Maize were produced while the demand stands at Seventeen Million Metric tonnes.
In the meantime the Central Bank is financing Maize Dry season farming activities in twenty states.
