Nigeria’s power sector has again recorded another milestone in power transmission with an enhanced all-time peak of 5,552.80 Mega Watts which was successfully transmitted through the National grid on Wednesday, January 6th 2021, at 8.15pm.

A statement by the Transmission Company of Nigeria TCN indicates that the latest all-time peak transmitted, surpasses the last peak generation of 5,520.40 Mega Watts which was also effectively transmitted by TCN on the 30th of October, 2020 by 32.40 Mega Watts.

The new peak TCN says shows gradual but consistent growth in the capability of the power sector under the present administration.

TCN encourages all sector players to work together to ensure sustained improvement in the power sector as more substations are being built with additional transformers installed in various substations Nationwide to wheel increased generation through the national grid.
