Persons Living With Disabilities in the country are asking the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, to accord them priority among the first public groups to receive COVID-19 vaccination.
Executive Director Centre for Citizens with Disabilities David Anyaele in a statement commended the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Government of Nigeria, in facilitating the arrival of the first batch of COVID-19 vaccine while expressing concern over none inclusion of persons with disabilities.
The Centre urged relevant agencies of government to ensure that no one is left behind in the distribution and administration of COVID-19 vaccines by reason of his or her disability while making venues for vaccination accessible to such persons in line with Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018.
