
Out of the 32 petitions filed before Osun State judicial panel of inquiry 11 have been concluded
The panel Chairman, Justice Akin Oladimeji disclosed this while briefing newsmen on the progress of the panel since the commencement of the hearing.
Justice Akin explained that seven petitions were struck out of the concluded eleven for lack of diligence prosecution while others dismissed for incompetence of the petition.
The panel chairman also noted that,six petitions have been slated for adoption of final written addresses by the counsel while 10 others for continuation of hearing
However, out of the six petitions slated for hearing today,four of them were later adjourned in agreement with police prosecuting counsel and petitioners counsel while one for adoption of final written address by the counsel other one close the petition.
In the meantime,One of the petitions for hearing was that of a petitioner Niece Rachel Abioye who was shot on 15th sept ,2020 at her mother food canteen by unknown police officer
The counsel to the petitioner Oluwadamilola Olebiyi adopted the argument canvassed in the petitioner’s counsel final written address and urged the panel to grant all the reliefs sought by the petitioner.
That the panel should discountenance with the defense of the respondent accordingly.
The petitioner’s counsel written address was adopted .
Also determined at the panel was Wasiu Jimoh’s petition filed for the payment of two million and fifty naira thousand awarded to the police by federal high court judgment and additional compensation of hundred thousand naira for oppressive prosecution of the petitioner.
The panel thereafter admitted in evidence all documents presented by the petitioners as exhibits and adjourned.
