The National Judicial Council has described as worrisome the non payment of the retirement benefits of Judicial Officers who retired in the employ of many States in the Federation.
The Council condemns in strong terms the development which is undermining the Rule of Law and Section 6 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999.
It calls on the offending States to ensure that all entitlement of retired Judges are fully settled forthwith.
The NJC further directs State Chief Judges to file reports on compliance, to reach the Council not later than 1st April 2023.
