The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation UNESCO and the Ministery of Environment are strategising to strengthen the working relationship between the Ministry of Environment and the UNESCO with the aim of maximising the benefits of the joint initiatives accrued to Nigeria by the UNESCO.
This was part of the meeting between the Minister of Environment Dr. Mohammad Mahmud and the Nigerian Ambassador and permanent delegate to UNESCO Dr Hajo Sani in his office.
Dr Sani applauded the efforts of the ministry of Environment and the forestry research institute of Nigeria to the activities of UNESCO in Nigeria especially their commitment to the UNESCO contribution through the International Co-ordinating Council of the Man and the Biosphere programme.
While reaffirming his determination to the activities of UNESCO in Nigeria the Minister of Environment Mohammad Mahmud assured the Ambassador and Nigeria’s permanent delegate to UNESCO that his doors are always open to all kind of mutual engagements that will benefits the contry and its citezenry.
He commended the effort and doggedness of Dr Sani for standing firm in her new responsibily.
