The National Examinations Council (NECO), has confirmed the death of its registrar and chief executive,Professor Godswill Obioma .
In a statement the director, human resources of NECO, Mallam Mustapha Abdul, said Professor Obioma died in his house on London street, Dutsen Kura area of Minna, Niger, on Monday evening after a brief illness.
This is contrary to insinuations in the social media that the late registrar was assassinated in his residence in Minna, Niger state.
Professor Obioma was born on 12th December, 1953 and hails from Bende Local Government area of Abia state.
He was appointed registrar of NECO on 14th may, 2020 by president Muhammadu Buhari.
