The Federal High Court in Abuja also granted permission to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA to destroy forfeited narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances, weighing 15.660kg and valued at about N150million.
Justice Inyang Ekwo in a ruling on Friday,, granted the order for forfeiture and leave to destroy the drug sought by the NDLEA following an ex-parte application argued by the counsel to the agency, Mike Kassa.
The NDLEA, in a supporting affidavit, said the drugs and psychotropic substances were seized by operatives at its Abuja command in the course of their operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Justice Inyang Ekwo in a another development, Friday, held that the applicant -The Registered Trustees of Ohanaeze Indigbo General Assembly, led by Barrister Onuorah Basil Onyeachonam – failed to show that Obiozor and others committed any offence known to law to warrant their arrest, investigation and prosecution.
Justice Ekwo said, after a thorough evaluation of the processes filed by the applicant, he found that it failed to establish a prima facie case to warrant the grant of the reliefs sought.
