The Extraordinary meeting of the National Security Council which started on Friday is continuing this Tuesday at the Presidential Villa.

The crucial meeting was summoned by President Muhammadu Buhari to find lasting solutions to the persistent challenges of security in parts of the country.

At the last engagement on Friday, the President made it abundantly clear that he is prepared to take profound measures in the wider interest of Nigerians.

He expressed optimism that the forces of evil marauding about in different parts of the country will be defeated by the nation’s armed forces as well as other security and intelligence agencies.
President Buhari said there will no relenting until normalcy is significantly restored in nation’s security situation.

At the resumed meeting are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Secretary TO the Government of the Federation, Ministers of Defence, Justice, Interior and police and Foreign Affairs as well as the National Security Adviser.

Others include the service chiefs led by the chief of Defence Staff, the Acting inspector General of Police, Directors General, Department of State Services and the National intelligence Agency as well as Chief of Defence Intelligence.
