LATE PRESIDENT’S OFFICIAL DRIVER NOT DETAINED, TORTURED – DSS

The Department of State Services has denied news report by Sahara reporters that it tortured Sa’idu Afaka, the President’s official driver to death.

A statement by the Public Relations officer of the DSS Dr. Peter Afunanya indicates that Afaka was never arrested or detained by the Service.

It further explains that the service does not torture suspects and that Its suspect handling method is usually in compliance with the tenets of the administration of criminal justice system and democracy.

The service wishes to remind the public that the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, had on 6th April, 2021 announced the passing of Afaka after a prolonged illness as well as the condolences of the President to his family.
