The Imo State Police Command has arrested one Ezeugo Ordu, alleged to be a member of the indigenous people of Biafra IPOB and Eastern Security Network ESN.
Ezeugo, aged sixty five was arrested at Orlu local government area, after investigation by the command tactical team.
A statement by the police public relations officer Bala Elkana, indicates that the suspect made useful statements regarding the recent attacks on Police stations as well as the residence of the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma.
He further led operatives of the Command to the IPOB and ESN camp, located at a Njaba local government area, where nine persons alleged to be planning another attack were arrested and assorted charms recovered from them.
The statement however shows that two out of the nine arrested in the hideout, Chinedu Nwakaire, also known as One Door, and Uzoamaka Ugoanyanwu, alleged to be their native doctor, were identified to be part of the hoodlums who attacked the private residence of the Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and some Police stations in the state.
With this arrest, the Commissioner of Police Abutu Yaro, calls on members of the IPOB and ESN, or any other criminal syndicate operating in the state, especially those who stole Police arms and ammunitions, to voluntarily surrender themselves, to enable them get “soft landing”, or risk being arrested and made to face the full weight of the law, as the Command will do everything possible to rid Imo state of crime and criminality.
