FG TO FIX TECHNICAL PROBLEMS INHIBITING ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

Minister of Power, Sale Mamman has assured Nigerians that relevant agencies under the ministry are working assidously to fix technical problems in some affected power plants that resulted to shortage of electricity supply in parts of the Country.

While regretting the inconveniences the power shortage has caused, the minister says he is optimistic that the National grid will bounce back to its peak of 5,600 Mega watts of electricity earlier achieved in the beginning of the year.

Recalled that parts of the country have been experiencing power outages as a result of breakdown of some power generating plants in Sapele, Afam, Olonrunsogo, Omotosho, Ibom, Egbin, Alaoji and Ihovbor as well as Jebba power plant which was shut down for annual maintenance.

While seven other integrated power plants are also experiencing gas constraints, the shiroro plant has water management problems which Minister of power says all challenges will soon be rectified.
