FG APPOINTS  NEW DG FOR NATIONAL CENTER FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT

A NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL FOR THE NATIONAL CENTRE FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT (NCWD) HAS  BEEN APPOINTED

SHE IS Dr.  ASABE VILITA BASHIR.
THE APPOINTMENT WHICH WAS ANNOUNCED BY THE MINISTER OF WOMEN AFFIARS, PAULINE TALLEN SAYS THE NEW DG IS TO ASSUME OFFICE ON MONDAY, 12 APRIL, 2021.

DR.. ASABE VILITA BASHIR  IS  FROM A
HUMBLE BACKGROUND,IN  LIMANKARA
COMMUNITY, GWOZA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF BORNO STATE.

HER DETERMINATION TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE,  AND BRING SUCCOUR TO THE HELPLESS  SAW HER BEYOND  PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION THROUGH TO THE UNIVERSITY OF MAIDUGURI WHERE SHE OBTAINED A FIRST DEGREE IN CHEMISTRY AND MATHEMATICS IN 1988.

IN 1989 SHE DECIDED TO TAKE UP A CAREER AS A LECTURER IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
OF HER ALMA MATER, A FULFILLING EXPERIENCE THAT LASTED TILL 2003.

SHE  LATER OBTAINED A PhD IN EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY   SHORTLY  BEFORE SHE LEFT THE CLASSROOM FOR POLITICS.

Dr. ASABE VILITA BASHIR WAS  ELECTED
INTO BORNO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY. IN 1997 AND 2003. HER OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE  HINGED ON THE WELFARE, GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF HER PEOPLE EARNED HER A POSITION AS MEMBER OF BORNO STATE
EXECUTIVE COUNCIL AND  THEN
COMMISSIONER IN VARIOUS MINISTRIES A POSITION SHE HELD UNTIL HER
  ELECTION INTO THE  NATIONAL ASSEMBLY IN 2015
TO REPRESENT  GWOZA, DAMBOA AND CHIBOK FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY OF
BORNO STATE.

WHILE  THERE , SHE’D  SERVED AS THE DEPUTY CHAIRMAN,
WOMEN IN PARLIAMENT AND SPONSORED  A BILL TO ENSURE THE  GIRL
CHILD IS TAKEN OFF  STREETS TO SCHOOL IN THE NORTH.

IT IS AS A RESULT OF THIS TRACK RECORDS THAT PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI DEEMED IT  FIT  TO APPOINT HER   THE DIRECTOR GENERAL AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF THE NATIONAL CENTRE FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT.
