FG AND JUSUN DISAGREE

There appears not to be an end to the ongoing industrial action embarked upon by the judiciary staff union of Nigeria and the parliamentary staff association of Nigeria (JUSUN) over non-implementation of financial autonomy

After waiting for about two hours in the conference room of the minister of labour and employment, leadership of the unions had to stage a walkout saying the minister kept them for longer than necessary despite the fact that the invitation sent to them stated when the meeting should commence.
Efforts by the permanent secretary of the ministry Peter Yerima Yarfa, to prevail on the unions to return for the meeting fell on deaf ears.
Afterwards the minister spoke to newsmen on the development.

Dr Ngige said the meeting is postponed to enable government’s negotiating team harmonize all issues from the memorandum of understanding reached at separate meetings with tiers and arms of government.
