Eight Women, including four nursing mothers kidnapped at Rugumau village in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State about two months ago have eventually regained their freedom.
The women were received by Governor Bello Muhammad along side the Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello and Heads of Security Agencies in the State at Government House, Gusau.
Governor Muhammad says the feat is in furtherance of the ongoing dialogue and reconciliation with armed bandits initiated by Zamfara State Government.
The released captives are to undergo medical checkup before the State Government reunites them with their families.
Meanwhile, seven of the women abductors have repented and laid down their arms to Zamfara State Government.
The Repentant bandits who individually took an oath with the Glorious Qur’an, vowed not to go back to their past ways.
This this is coming berely 24 hours after an armed bandits’ kingpin in Bakura Local Government Area of the state, Amadu Karkare and his two lieutenants renounced banditry and surrendered their weapons.
