ECOWAS PARLIAMENT ON ICT AND EDUCATION

Ecowas Parliament is working on modalities to guarantee a digital learning environment with unhindered access to the internet in the region.

Efforts in this regard will identify relevant intervention mechanism to implement the ecowas protocol on education and training.

In a presentation to the ECOWAS Parliament delocalized meeting of joint committees on education, science and technology; telecommunication and information technology; political affairs, peace, security and infrastructure, speaker Sidie Mohammed Tunis indicated that parliament is working with member states in areas related to information and communications technology, science, and innovation to digital connect the region together.

In preparing for a post covid-19 period, member states are reminded that the pandemic is not yet over and so continuous efforts must be made to contain spread to avert a second wave in the region.
