Sequel to the ratification of the African Continental Free Trade Area, the Nigeria Customs Service has again expressed its willingness and readiness to play its role as Trade Facilitator.

A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Service, Joseph Attah states that Customs being an Organisation whose functions are primarily automated, It will therefore painstakingly intergrate all data associated with AFCFTA into its system.

He further states that the Service awaits the National Action Committee on the list of charges waived for liberalized goods under AFCFTA list of 90 percent liberalized National Trade offer, ,list of 70 percent non-liberalized exclusive goods at the regional level and the list of 3 percent non-liberalized goods.

Others are appointment of an authority that will be responsible for issuing and authenticating certificates of origin and registering enterprises and products within the region.
