COURT DISMISSES APPLICATION SEEKING SUSPENSION OF INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE

THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT IN ABUJA HAS TURNED DOWN AN EXPARTE APPLICATION SEEKING TO RESTRAIN MISTER MOHAMMED ADAMU FROM PARADING HIMSELF AS THE INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE PENDING THE HEARING AND DETERMINATION OF THE SUIT CHALLENGING THE ELONGATION OF HIS TENURE.

JUSTICE AHMED MOHAMMED WHO PRESIDED OVER THE CASE. HOWEVER HELD THAT THE DEFENDANTS HAD ALREADY BEEN SERVED WITH THE ORIGINATING PROCESS IN THE SUIT THEREFORE ,IT WOULD BE UNFAIR TO GRANT THE EX-PARTE MOTION WHEN THE DEFENCE HAD WITHIN 30TH DAYS TO RESPOND TO THE MAIN SUIT.
THE SUIT FILED BY AN ABUJA BASED LAWYER MAXWELL OPARA HAS PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI, INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE, MUHAMMED ADAMU, THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE FEDERATION, ABUBAKAR MALAMI AND THE NIGERIAN POLICE COUNCIL AS DEFEDANTS. THE MATTER COMES UP ON 24TH FEBRUARY, 2021 FOR HEARING
