BUHARI SUMMONS SECURITY COUNCIL MEETING

An Extraordinary ordinary meeting of the National Security Council has been convened the meeting was summoned by President Muhammadu Buhari to critically analyse and find lasting solutions to the prevailing challenges of security in parts of the country.
The National Security Council has the power to advise the President on matters relating to public security including matters relating to any organization or agency established by law for the purpose of ensuring the security of the federation
In attendance at the crucial meeting are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Chief of Staff to the President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ministers of Defence, Interior, police and Foreign Affairs as well as the National Security Adviser.
Others include the service chiefs and the inspector General of Police, Directors General, Department of State Services and the National intelligence Agency, Director Defence Intelligence and other stakeholders.
This is the 4th in the series of meetings held by the National Security Council since the beginning of the year 2020.
