A meeting of the National Security Council is now underway at the Presidential Villa.
State House correspondent Adamu Sambo reports that President Muhammadu Buhari is presiding over the meeting.

In attendance were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs, The National Security Adviser and the Chief of Defence Staff.

Also at the meeting are The Service Chiefs, Inspector General of Police as well as Heads of other Security Services.

As at the time of filing in this report, The Agenda of the meeting is unknown,
NTA News however learnt that the meeting might not be unconnected with the resurgence of criminal activities in parts of the country.

The ongoing counter terrorism and counter insurgency operations by the nation’s military aimed at mopping up the remnants of Boko Haram and other criminal elements in the North East, North Central and the North west might also be discussed.

We will keep you posted with details of resolutions taken at the meeting when made public.
