The West African Examinations Council SAYS it withheld the results of 215,149 candidates who sat for the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination in Nigeria.
The Head of WAEC Nigeria, Patrick Areghan, stated this at a briefing in Lagos while announcing the official release of the results of this year’s WASSCE.
The Council said the results of the candidates representing 13.98 PERCENT of the total number of candidates who wrote the examination are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.
The cases are being investigated and reports of the investigations will be presented to the appropriate Committee of the Council for determination in due course.
Out of 1,538,445 candidates, 1,338,348 candidates representing 86.99% obtained credit and above in 5 subjects.
