Meanwhile The Federal Government has expressed formal appreciation to the shehu of Borno and other members of the state council of Traditional rulers for their exemplary leadership, wisdom and high sense of responsibility exhibited in the past decade when the area was ravaged by insurgency and terrorism
President Muhammadu Buhari made this known during a courtesy visit to the monarchs at the Shehu’s palace in Maiduguri.

He said the fact that the royal fathers now operate from their domains is another evidence that peace is being restored to the communities despite the challenges that remain to be overcome.

He assured them and indeed the people of the North East that the Federal Government will not relent until peace is fully restored and the displaced persons are resettled in their home communities.
Both the Governor of Borno state Babagana ZULUM and the Shehu of Borno were full of gratitude to the President for his genuine commitment to the aspirations of their people.
