
Finally, good things are beginning to happen to Mary Daniel, the 27-year-old amputee water hawker, as she launched her new house which she allegedly acquired for 17.5 million naira in the Igando area of Lagos State on Saturday.
Recalled that Mary’s story went viral after a video of her hawking pure water in the chaotic and busy Oshodi area of Lagos State caught the attention of Nigerians who through their own share of goodwill donated a huge sum of money to her.
The money being given to her, investigations revealed was up to the tune of 25 million naira.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that she celebrated the new property by hosting friends and family members. According to reports, the house warming was also attended by leaders of Igala community in Lagos and others.
The new property, it was learnt has a water factory which is still under construction.
Speaking with Journalists, Mary Daniel, almost in tears, expressed gratitude to God and Nigerians for their immense support.
She thanked everyone who had in one way or the other donated money to her. She also thanked the Lagos State Government for assisting her when things were rough and all hope was gone.
She added that her daughter, Success, now leaves with her and that she will be attending School soon.
