The Nigeria Police Force says the Abia State Command has successfully neutralised four attackers, arrested eight suspects and recovered arms and ammunitions from the hoodlums who carried out the attack on Abayi Police Station, Aba.
A statement by the Force indicates that Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu
commiserated with families and friends of the deceased officers and warned that dire consequences await any person or group who may want to engage in an unwarranted attack on any public property.
The statement directs all Command CPs to employ all legally permissible measures to protect lives and property of citizens.
Meanwhile, investigation into the attack is ongoing and perpetrators of the unwholesome act will be prosecuted in due course.
The police high command calls on proprietors of medical facilities – both public and private – in and around Abia State to report any persons found seeking medical treatment for bullet wounds and other related injuries to the nearest police station.
